BMW M3 E36 Evo

My BMW M3 E36 Evo 4 door saloon

My M3 was built in February 1996 and it's a 4 door saloon E36 3.2l Evolution.

I have had the car since 2010, and I guestimate the car was off the road for around 3 years, and from around 2014, it only did 2000miles a year.

My work sort of took over and I didn't have much time to keep it tidy and it was left out to the elements, I knew years ago about the rust bubbles under the paint work.

I took the car off the road after an MOT found a cracked front coil spring, and as i didn't really have the cash or the time to replace the suspension she sat for a year, I finally managed to get some money together and bought what I thought would be a good suspension kit, the MOT passed but the new suspension installed and setup professionally was so tight, the only way I could describe it was like driving a coffee table, it had no give, but I must admit was fun doing dough nuts in the dry.

he MOT expired and again due to money and lack of time, she was declared SORN and sat for a year before the first COVID lockdown.

Being self employed I had no money during that time to do anything, and I had a knock on the door asking if the car was for sale, I said what I wanted but apparently that was too much, I don't think so. Earlier this year some one else was very interest and was about to collect her, when my son said, hey lets do it up together, which is a nice thing for us to do.

Personally I love the car, and now after finding out what needs doing, I would rather keep it, and when my time's up, my son will have a nice car or he can sell it for a nice bit of investment.

Little did we know until after we had pulled out the back end, prop shaft, exhaust and fuel tank, exactly how much work needs doing!!!

I am not the type of person to just bodge up some areas and slap some paint on it, so read the blog posts and see what we are doing to her, and my original timeline of approximately 6 months, yeah that might be a bit too ambitious.
