I also cut out a rusty bit under the rear inner arch and patched in a new piece of metal, given that I was welding 2 different thickness and no back support I think I did pretty well. I managed to prime it, ready to install the new rear outer arch.
I've decided not to video stuff whilst I am doing it, and more a before, during and after type of thing, that way I can take a break, have a coffee and let things cool down and sit for a bit, yes I want it all done now, but one has to be more practical.
Well I got the rear arch mostly welded, I had some issue with the welder running out of gas, easily done with those little bottles and even at max & 2 power setting I was either blowing through the metal or not getting the "bacon crackle sound", I did grind down some of what I had done, knowing full well I haven't completed the weld, but upon grinding I did see a hair line maybe a crack or just the edge of the new arch, so I'm not happy, I do know welding galvanised metal, even though I have ground the top edge down a bit is tricky maybe that's the issue, but now its got dark, regardless of having a light out there I have decided to call it a night and wait for Saturday.
